The Powder Tower. Remaining one of the 13th entrances to the Old Town, 65m high, its construction begun in 1475 under the reign of King Vladislav II Jagiello. For a few centuries it has been known as the New Tower. During the 17th century it has been used to store gunpowder, activity that gave its present name.
